Natural colours, forms and textures are the inspiration of Textile Artist Judith Reece. She is fascinated by the ever changing light and its effect on the colours of the sea and moorland.

“I love the tactile nature of working with fabrics and hand made papers. My images have been described as atmospheric and enigmatic, as I aim to represent colour and texture in an abstract way, yet the end results usually hint at a recognisable form. I hand dye all my fabrics before layering and stitching them with metallic threads. I then cut, tear or burn them back to reveal what lies beneath, to allow subtle shading to emerge.”
