David Herrod Photographs, Drawings, Paintings David Herrod, born in Nottinghamshire, moved to Cumbria in 1966 and now lives near Cockermouth. A self-taught photographer, he has exhibited internationally, gaining many awards, including two gold medals from the Photographic Society of America, a gold medal from the Federation of International d'Art Photographique and a bronze medal from the Chinese Photographic Society of Hong Kong. In addition to participating in many joint exhibitions he has had over 35 solo exhibitions. Among his many competition successes, he became Photographer of the Year in 1986 in a national competition sponsored by the major names in the photographic trade. His fine art photographs, are in private, corporate and public collections around the world, including the National Portrait Gallery and the V&A, London. Books entirely of his own work are, Waters of Cumbria and Images by Design.
